The weekend of this gorgeous intimate wedding began with an evening on the water. It was a cool December night downtown, a gentle breeze left the silhouettes of party guests glittering in the wake of their celebratory barge. And celebrate they did. I can't imagine a better start to the weekend of their dreams than gathering together to set the mood for the vision they hoped to bring to life the following day. Details included the couple's drinks of choice, their favorite songs and speeches from their sweet siblings. Jadha, Julia, and their loved ones concluded their wedding eve with a visit to the Austin classic, P Terry's, followed by cuddles with Charlie, Jadha's cat.
See a bit of their fun below! It was a colorful, glitterly, bright as can be kinda night.
The couple got ready for their ceremony alone together, in their apartment overlooking the same river they danced on the night before. It was a quiet morning, a soft reminder of the life they were promising to keep.
Their families and best friends arrived to Julia's childhood Catholic church for morning mass and the small ceremony that would follow when the congregation dispersed. After a lovely shout out by her priest we transitioned to a back room where Julia's mother and sister helped her into her dress and filled her with sweet sentiments. The age old coincidence persists, she fell in love with the first dress she tried on, and it was absolutely perfect for her chic and cool girl bridal aesthetic.
Holding a bridal bouquet handmade by her dear friend, arm in arm with her smiling father, she made her way past tear-filled faces to her most happy groom. The tiny chapel carried the joyful agreements of everyone in the room, these two are truly perfect for each other. After a beautiful and quick ceremony, the couple had their first (and second) kiss and made their exit.
We took photos outside of the church in the light that shown down on the couple between the trees, meanwhile their guests headed to the reception at Inn Cahoots Austin. The reception space is a funky new take on a hotel/ event space, with several floors of unique fun.
The car ride was full of laughs and quotes of "just married" cliches, and their grand entrance was movie worthy. It is so special to shoot weddings with guests who make the bride and groom feel like celebrities, fully supportive and loving of their union. Indonesian dinner brought a unique touch to their especially fun day, an ode to Jadha's home and also their engagement trip!
After saying goodbye to extended family and traveling guests, they journeyed to the roof with their inner circle. We saw golden hour, then sunset, with the soft sounds of next door's live music playing below. As the night raged on, the games began. In Cahoots has a variety of classic arcade games and the Austin weather is surprisingly warm enough for a casual dip in the pool. It was a gorgeous day, and there couldn't have been a more contagious emotion than the joy dripping from every cup and conversation.
Jadha and Julia vowed to spend every anniversary on "their" barge, with the friends and family that carried them through the treasured moments of their wedding weekend. It was a magical day, and now they live vicariously in those moments when they go through their gallery. A weekend that will live forever, a weekend they so truly deserved. The sweetest two!!
